ABBY DANFORTH WOMEN’S SOCIETY

Format: Members work on service projects for Kent Social Services-collecting items for the food cupboard and domestic violence shelter.

ADULT CHOIR
Drop-ins welcome (Tenors/Basses are always welcome). No auditions.
Time: Sundays 6:30-7:45 pm
Place: Church Sanctuary
Format: Focus is on fun and community-building as well as music. The choir learns both songs for performance and hymns in order to lead the rest of the congregation. The choir performs during the church service a couple of times a month.

Time & Place:Meets every 3 weeks or so.
Format:Open to new members. Members meet to discuss gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender issues and concerns.

Time: 2nd Tuesday, 7 pm
Place Member’s homes
Format: Discussion group. Members of the group choose the book or theme each month.

CELTIC CLAN
Time & Place: call Trish McLoughlin
Format: Focus is on fund raising and community-building as well as playing Celtic music. The group performs during an occasional church service, at nursing homes and at local folk music events.

MEN’S GROUP
Open to men only. Drop-ins are welcome.
Time: 2nd Thursday, 7 - 9 pm
Place: Eldredge Annex
Format: Members of the group take turns leading a program for the rest of the group, plan events (social and fund raising) for the church community and outreach service projects for Kent Social Services. Our purposes are to nurture men’s spirit, promote discussion of men’s issues, and through this improve our lives and lives of those around us.

Place: Eldredge Annex
Format: Group discussion about using skills and ideas developed in on of our “lives” to groups in other areas of our life.

SOCIAL JUSTICE COMMITTEE
Place: Fessenden Hall
Time: See church calendar for meeting times
Format: This group is dedicated to the work of peace, social witness and justice on a variety of international, national and local social justice causes and encourages volunteerism at a local level for social justice work in the community. Most recently, we worked successfully on petition signings for the raising of the minimum wage in Ohio as well as authoring a resolution against the use of torture that was unanimously adopted by our congregation.

Place: Various parks within driving distance
Format: Connection with nature and our transcendentalist heritage a la Henry David Thoreau. Activities are intergenerational. Choices are offered. Registration for events requested. Fee to cover costs.

am & pm hours. Workshops & private sessions, too.
Wear comfortable layers & bring your yoga mat.
